The little while ago we experiences our first Australian storm.
Extreme weather warnings were issued across Queensland and as we drove home from work, we could see the clouds gathering behind us, smaller clouds scudding across the sky being sucked into the storm. By the time we were home it had hit.
The heavens opened and it poured with rain. We sat in the sitting room with the lights off watching the lightning over the sea.
For a while it was right above us, and then gradually it moved further and further out to sea.
Luckily we kept power, but the internet was MIA over night and into the next day...
Living where we live, with such an uninterupted view of the ocean is amazing.
In the sun it makes you feel like you're permanently on holiday...
...And when it's cloudy and overcast the sea looks brooding. It is always beautiful in its own way.
Plus sometimes we see whales!!

Days off
The sun has just risen up over the ocean. The light is incredibly bright. So bright I’ve
shut one of the curtains so I’m not squinting .
I’m sitting here eating a bowl of pineapple lime sorbet... because its my day off, and I like eating
puddings for breakfast.
Once the sun is properly up and I've had my morning coffee, I'm going to go lie by the pool and read trashy novels.

Welcome to my new project...
Welcome to “Friday Nights at the Gin Palace”.
I should really be launching this on a Friday night with a gin and tonic in hand, but never mind. It's a Saturday and I have coffee instead.
For those that already know me the next paragraph is a
little obsolete, so I’ll just keep my fingers crossed that you stick around for
some more interesting posts!
For the rest of you… I’m 27, from
England and until a month ago I’d lived most of the last 10 years in London,
studying and working. At the beginning
of August I packed up 20kg of my stuff, squished it into a suitcase and moved
to The Other Side of the World.
Literally.
Boyfriend and I are now living by the beach in a small town in
Queensland, Australia.
